Improved delube zone LED3
|
Back in 1984 we introduced our new dewaxing zone, which became a patent: "Process and Apparatus for Removing Combustible Lubricants from Sinterable Workpieces“ von R Sarnes et.al. patentiert (US Patent 4,495,14888).
The new low energy dewaxing unit LED3 is a further development, which is one feature of all SARNES sintering furnaces and which is also available for existing and older furnaces.
Soot deposits on sintered parts, decarburization and pre-oxidation are well known problems of sintering powder metal steel parts.
Amost 25 years after introducing our so called LED delube zone (Low Energy Dewaxing), we found that only very few sintering furnaces do offer effective dewaxing units and still many PM producers face soot problems and quality variation.
The original LED delube zone received further develpment (LED3) in the meantime: beside "atmopshere zoning" to improve delubing conditions, the in-built post-burning of waxes and protective atmosphere inside the furnace is used for furnace heating and offers cost enormous cost savings for PM part producers.
The LED3 delube zone is also availbale for older sintering furnaces, even of other suppliers. Almost 25 sintering furnaces have been upgraded until today.
